Teaching science in a humanities context
Project carried out during academic year 2006-07 in the context of a second year history course entitled Environmental History of Northwestern Europe in the School of Historical Studies, Newcastle University. The first aim of the project was to find out what the degree of science literacy among humanities students. For this purpose a survey was conducted among students of the course and in control groups of other courses. The second aim of the project was to improve the teaching of science concepts embedded in a humanities course, in this case environmental history.

Student Produced Podcasts: Assessing the Pedagogy of Podcasting
This project used podcasting technology for developing presentation and Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills in undergraduate courses, by incorporating podcasting into the second year undergraduate course in environmental history in 2007/8. The course required students to turn an essay into a radio style audio presentation to be distributed to their peers through the web.
